Dear Evan Hansen has been confirmed for the Noel Coward Theatre in the West End, as the show finally travels across the pond.
Hype has followed Dear Evan Hansen since the start, with the Broadway run somewhat taking over from Hamilton as the darling of millennial theatre-goers when it debuted in 2016. It has also won six Tony awards.
Producer Stacey Mindich said: “Producing Dear Evan Hansen in America has been a joyful undertaking as the team and I have seen such a widespread and heartfelt response to our show’s message.
“We are so excited to bring our show to London, especially to Cameron Mackintosh’s jewel box of a theatre, the Noel Coward. Our show is very much about connection and we are all looking forward to connecting London audiences to the music and story of Dear Evan Hansen.”
Music and lyrics are by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, with direction from Michael Greif. The US creative team consisting of David Jorins (set design), Emily Rebholz (costume), Japhy Weideman (lighting), Nevin Steinberg (sound) and David Brian Brown (hair design) will return.
