Leaping from the pages of comics to the stage is the long-mooted Bananaman musical, that finally lands in Southwark next month.
Based on the character who originated in Nutty comic, migrated to The Dandy and also starred in his own cartoon TV series, the new musical has been penned by Leon Parris, with Mark Perry directing.
Taking on the title role is Matthew McKenna, with the cast rounded out by Marc Pickering, Jodie Jacobs, Mark Newnham and Carl Mullaney. They each have substantive musical credits between them.
Previews start at the Southwark Playhouse from December 15th, and the show is then scheduled to run from January 4th to January 20th. Ticket and show details can be found here.
